Chapter 1: Unveiling the Encounters
In September 2023, Netflix premiered a thought-provoking docuseries titled Encounters, which delves into the human experiences surrounding the UFO phenomenon.
This series aims to shed light on firsthand accounts from individuals who assert they have witnessed potential extraterrestrial activities. Encounters will narrate the experiences of scientists and military personnel who have encountered UFOs, or UAPs as they are often referred to in contemporary military discourse. Viewers will embark on an intriguing journey across the globe, exploring UFO sightings in diverse locales, including Texas, Wales, Zimbabwe, and Japan.
Collaboratively produced by Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television, Boardwalk Pictures, Netflix, and VICE Studios, the docuseries provides a unique lens on the worldwide UFO phenomenon. Directed by Yon Motskin, the series examines the scientific, cultural, and belief-based dimensions of UFOs, ensuring a captivating viewing experience.
The team at VICE Studios has recently shared a promotional trailer for this engaging docuseries. Within the trailer, naval intelligence cryptologist Matthew Roberts, a credible witness, recounts his experiences onboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt from 2014 to 2015. During this period, Roberts observed fighter pilots capturing footage of Tic-Tac-shaped UFOs off the U.S. coastline. The recordings later became known as GIMBAL and GOFAST, with Roberts noting that it was the first time he had come across the GIMBAL video.
In a recent interview, former Navy pilot Ryan Graves shared his multiple encounters with unidentified flying objects during his service. Graves explained that he and his colleagues had observed UFOs moving at hypersonic speeds and executing maneuvers beyond the capabilities of known aircraft.
Graves vividly described an encounter: “I can't even articulate the object's shape. It traveled in a straight line and then tilted on its side. There were no visible aeronautical features, like wings or rudders… It defied explanation.” This experience left him questioning how such an object could remain airborne.
Graves expressed his belief that these sightings were not of human origin: “I knew it wasn't ours or anyone else's. This only leads to one conclusion: it is non-human technology, a non-human intelligence,” he stated.
Additionally, Graves mentioned that his naval career provided him with insights into other similar UFO encounters. “My work was classified, and I had access to data on these incidents. I was aware that these occurrences are common within the Navy. They happen frequently,” he revealed.
These encounters have profoundly affected Graves, leading him to describe experiences he refers to as ‘bedroom visitors’, which have reshaped his understanding of UFOs and their occupants. This personal evolution introduces a captivating human dimension to the UFO narrative.
