With the implementation of social distancing measures, the landscape of social interaction has shifted. We've witnessed a significant cultural change in the U.S., where personal health has taken precedence. The challenges we face today feel more daunting and, frankly, more melancholic. So much that we once considered routine is now beyond our reach.
The most profound loss for many of us? The simple joy of a hug.
For those living with loved ones, the comfort of a hug remains accessible. Similarly, if you have a furry friend, you still have the chance to experience that warmth. But what about those of us who are solitary? When your typical sources of hugs are unavailable, life can feel particularly isolating.
No more casual meetups, no gatherings at church, and no lively dinners out. Even those unexpected encounters with friends at the grocery store come with the burden of social distancing. The instinct to reach out for a hug has been replaced with the necessity of caution.
