Discovering Joy in Exercise: My 90-Day Transformation Journey
Written on
Chapter 1: My Surprising Journey to Consistency
Surprisingly, I managed to log 123 hours of exercise over the course of 90 days, which averages out to around 1.5 hours daily. This achievement feels remarkable, especially considering my background as a student who typically spent most of my time indoors. In school, I struggled with a 2.4 km run and, due to stress eating while preparing for my A-levels, I gained 10 kg over two years.
If you're on a quest to build a consistent exercise routine, you've come to the right place! During these three months, I occasionally worked out for 2 to 3 hours a day, while on other days, I focused on recovery through light yoga, mobility exercises, or swimming. I was genuinely surprised by my ability to remain consistent. Regardless of soreness or mood fluctuations, I committed to my workouts. Not once did I regret making that effort.
Chapter 2: Finding Joy in Movement
Boxing has become a transformative experience for me. It's a sport like no other and has provided numerous benefits.

I never felt like I was exercising in the traditional sense; instead, I was simply moving and having fun. It quickly became the highlight of my day!
Chapter 3: Discovering What You Love
So, how did I maintain this enthusiasm? The key is to engage in activities you genuinely enjoy.
Find your personal version of "exercise" that feels less like a chore and more like a pastime. It’s essential to choose something that brings you joy; this is the secret to long-term consistency. Surprisingly, many overlook the importance of fun in fitness.
If traditional workouts feel burdensome, remember that it’s akin to finding the right book to read—you just haven’t discovered your favorite yet. Explore beyond your comfort zone; there are around 8,000 sports worldwide, and one of them is bound to resonate with you!
Ultimately, the lesson is to identify something you truly love. It doesn’t have to be a conventional sport like running or swimming. When you love what you do, you’ll consistently engage in it, often without realizing you're exercising every day!
Remember, forcing yourself into an activity only leads to temporary consistency.
Good luck on your fitness journey!
