Unveiling Our Divine Purpose: The Science of Ownership

Chapter 1: The Intersection of Science and Spirituality

Everything that exists—past, present, and future—was created by God. This means that everything you perceive has always been part of the universe. This concept is encapsulated in the law of conservation of mass, a principle that illustrates the relationship between science and spirituality.

As human beings, we experience life through the material world, acting as God’s representatives on Earth. While God encompasses all creation, He transcends it. Our role is to engage with and shape the physical realm. Lacking this purpose leads to a sense of aimlessness. God urges us to create, for as the saying goes, “faith without works is dead.”

We are meant to engage with the material world without turning it into an idol. The tendency to idolize is innate to humanity. In contemporary society, this doesn’t just refer to worshipping figures; it also includes an excessive craving for worldly pleasures that are not divinely sanctioned. Such desires are twisted, originating from the fallen state of the world.

When you envision the Devil, what image comes to mind? Perhaps a force of evil that must be eradicated? However, I propose that the Devil can serve as an unexpected ally. My journey towards God has often involved grappling with material attachments. This yearning for the tangible and the lessons it teaches us are essential for two reasons: to create in accordance with God’s will and to redirect our focus from worldly desires towards the divine.

Ultimately, regardless of what we produce in our earthly existence, we possess nothing. We are merely vessels for the divine, here for a limited time. The concept of time itself is a human construct; God exists outside of our temporal constraints, where all moments coexist. This may be challenging to grasp, and it likely always will be.

Perhaps the simple yet profound law of conservation of mass can provide clarity. This law asserts that matter cannot be created or destroyed, only transformed. Everything you perceive has been present since the dawn of time. The device you are using to read this has its origins in raw materials that have existed long before it was manufactured. Human creativity, scientific progress, and labor have brought about this transformation.

The essence of transformation in creation

At the heart of this principle lies the concept of "transformation." To transform involves taking raw materials, known as reactants in chemistry, and converting them into refined products. While God has the power to create, He chooses to work through us. Our creativity can manifest in various forms—not just physical objects but also in teaching, conversation, writing, and scientific exploration, all of which refine ideas into shareable knowledge.

This process is far from straightforward; it demands human ingenuity and effort. The most remarkable creations often emerge from cycles of trial and error, culminating in the final product. It requires immense character and faith to persevere.

“For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”

James 2:26

God’s Creative Essence

Creativity is the essence of God's work. Engaging in it allows us to lead lives filled with purpose. Neglecting this divine spark, however, can result in a descent into mediocrity.

In our material existence, creativity is vital for transformation. Positive creations uphold God’s intentions, while negative ones elevate the influence of the Devil, leading to destruction. Christianity often associates the Devil with the material world.

Why does the Devil aim to undermine us if that would ultimately harm his own domain? He serves as God’s most critical assistant, tasked with tearing us down so that God can rebuild us after we have strayed in our pride. One of the ways God elevates us is through the act of creation. By refining ourselves into our best versions, we radiate goodness to humanity, fulfilling our role as beings made in His image—encouraging one another in faith and grace.

Unfortunately, I believe we are experiencing a creativity crisis for several reasons.

Firstly, we've surrendered our intellect to technology, replacing adventure—the source of inspiration—with excessive screen time.

Secondly, artificial intelligence has overshadowed divine intelligence. While tools like ChatGPT are readily available, divine inspiration is unpredictable and can strike at any moment.

Lastly, we inhabit a world that cultivates apathy—“A” representing without and “pathy” representing suffering. This isn’t entirely our fault; it’s a consequence of modern conveniences designed to distract us from the discomfort necessary for achieving significance. However, true fulfillment remains unattainable if we remain indifferent.

So, embrace God’s creative essence and work as though your life depends on it—because it truly does. We are dynamic transformers of divine intention, not mere automatons of the Devil.
