The universe has its ways of endangering life, and asteroids are a prominent concern. Let's delve into the first of five dangerous scenarios where the universe poses a lethal threat.

The initial episode in our exclusive series, "The Top Five Ways the Universe Can End Us," begins with the peril of asteroids.

Dinosaurs once dominated our planet for over 165 million years, which is nearly half of Queen Elizabeth II's reign. However, this reign abruptly ended 66 million years ago when a colossal asteroid, comparable in size to Mount Everest, collided with Earth. This catastrophic event triggered massive wildfires and blocked sunlight, leading to a global extinction event. It certainly was an unfortunate time for dinosaurs.

In today’s context, we are aware of numerous celestial objects that traverse space, with thousands potentially posing a future threat to Earth. Currently, no immediate dangers have been identified. However, dinosaurs failed to develop a space program, which might have helped them recognize and mitigate such threats. We must not make the same mistake and neglect our gaze upward!
